September 2010
Father, we bow and acknowledge once more, that you have brought this work of Book Aid into being. We humbly ask again that you continue to rise and lift this ministry higher to bless your people in other nations through your Word and books received into our warehouses. Thank you for all the countless blessings you have and do bestow upon us daily. We bless and praise your name, oh Lord!

Book Aid has been able to ship to Asia, the Caribbean and nearly twenty countries in Africa – Praise God! Let us remember them before the Lord as the task to sell the books we send to their bookshops is great. Let our prayers frustrate the enemy and bring about a closer bond with our overseas partners and trusting God to further Book Aid’s vision of Book Houses in Africa. Let us P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens).

Book Aid Secondhand bookshops in Barnard Castle, Ledbury, Warrington, London, Ranskill, and Northern Ireland serve a vital role in Book Aid’s ministry in raising the funds to help cover shipping and administration costs and to provide for the purchase of new books and Bibles for overseas.  Praise God for His enabling to  the teams and helpers who serve faithfully in the bookshops and for the blessings that He gives to the customers. Pray God to equip the bookshelves with more of the right books as funds to meet the present shipping and administration costs have risen quite considerably. Pray!

Pete in Wisbech will be attending a three day conference in Swanwick from September 15th – 17th. He will be publicising and exhibiting for Book Aid at this International Gospel Outreach and may even get to speak about Book Aid. Thank God for the opportunities to speak and share about what the Lord is doing through Book Aid. May further speaking engagements open up. May hearts receive what Pete shares and respond positively to the call to serve God in Book Aid through either becoming a Collector, becoming one of “Gideon’s 300” or donating money to help with the work.

Ashburnham Container.  Obtaining a 20 foot dry container is proving a little difficult at present due to them being sent to China and India. There is a short supply and the price increases daily. Let’s pray to see this project finalised. Help us, Lord!

Her Majesty’s Prison Service in Manchester write “Dear Book Aid, Wow. They (the books) have arrived in the office. I cannot tell you how precious they will be. I can’t thank you enough.”  May the prisoners who read these books find the liberty given to us through Calvary.

Book Aid welcomes Mary Preston who has recently been helping at Barnard Castle three days a week. We have recently heard that the pub next door is up for sale. May the Lord bring the right buyer.

Bob & Ada hope to be visiting Ranskill, Barnard Castle, & Warrington this month. Pray they have safety and a fruitful time visiting the Book Aid centres.

Ray, the Eastbourne Collector wants the Book Aid van to come again. Alleluia!  Malcolm and Lesley will be stationed at the Victoria Baptist Church Car Park to receive all kinds of Christian books and Bibles on 25th September between 10a.m – 12p.m. May it be a special morning for all who attend as they do their best to move the mountain of surplus books and Bibles overseas.

Among our many shop customers, God brings in some with different burdens and needs. Praise God they find our bookshops and leave with a book(s) or with an encouraging word from one of the team. With so much uncertainty out in the world may God’s anointing and presence be felt even more through our shops and warehouses giving liberty and healing to all who come.

Ranskill’s Warehouse & Bookshop looks good. Halleluia! Still a lot more work to be done but Book Aid is on top of things. With help from members of the team in London they have kept things moving. Thank God for His enabling. We still seek to see the Lord bring in workers alongside Declan and Heather.   Continue to keep and Mark and his family up in prayer.

Chippenham. Praise God! Stuart is making “good progress” after having a knee replacement. He’s been going for physiotherapy and despite some aches and pains at night he plans to be back driving the van with Andy in a couple of weeks. At present he cannot do any lifting. Pray the Lord will continue to strengthen him.

One of our Book Aid packers - Owen says “I am cleared of cancer – can I come back to work next week?”. He is thanking the Book Aid team for praying and remembering him. We look forward to seeing him this month. Praise the Lord!
